Some\u00a0traveled around states in America, while others\u00a0explored parts of Europe. Each student\u00a0ended their summer break\u00a0with valuable lessons\u00a0learned and memories made.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>   Eva Stoleru, a sophomore at PVHS, spent\u00a0the summer months exploring Europe.\u00a0While she was in France, she\u00a0spent most of her time in Paris. She\u00a0enjoyed being there for the first time because it had always been\u00a0a childhood dream of hers\u00a0to visit\u00a0there. While she was in Paris, she was amazed by the Eiffel Tower\u00a0and even ate duck for the first\u00a0time.\u00a0She also traveled around\u00a0Romania, and explained that since she speaks Romanian, communication was easier there. However,\u00a0the language barrier became\u00a0more\u00a0apparent\u00a0in some\u00a0countries where she did not speak the language.\u00a0Even though she had visited parts of Europe before, she\u00a0described this trip as refreshing because she was able to\u00a0spend time\u00a0with her\u00a0family\u00a0friends\u00a0and\u00a0her family.\u00a0Traveling through many different countries exposed her to a variety of cultures.\u00a0She went to\u00a0Greece,\u00a0Croatia,\u00a0and Italy.\u00a0\u201cI\u00a0learned to take every moment in and to not take advantage of time,\u201d said\u00a0Stoleru.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>\u201cI\u00a0learned to take every moment in and to not take advantage of time.\u201d<\/p><cite>eva stoleru (10)<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>   Jack\u00a0Feather, a senior at PVHS, traveled to Bar Harbor\u00a0Island in Maine\u00a0to go to Acadia National Park.\u00a0He\u00a0explained that the most interesting part was hiking a trail that included many ladders and rocks to climb on.\u00a0He enjoys going on runs\u00a0while being\u00a0on vacation because he can explore\u00a0the\u00a0different\u00a0scenes. \u201cA memory I will never forget was\u00a0running down the Main Street to set a Strava segment record,\u201d said Feather.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>   However, Feather\u2019s biggest setback was\u00a0having very limited cell\u00a0signal. He\u00a0took this as an opportunity to learn to\u00a0focus on\u00a0the nature\u00a0around him.\u00a0He said, \u201cThe most important lesson I took away was the freedom that not being able to use my phone as much brought.\u00a0Not having cell signal\u00a0made it much easier to live in the moment.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>   Georgia Trembath, a senior at PVHS,\u00a0drove to\u00a0Minnesota with her family\u00a0to visit her grandparents.\u00a0She explained that all her family meets there every year,\u00a0and she was able to experience\u00a0living in a city and seeing the different houses there.\u00a0She enjoyed being able to walk everywhere instead of driving, which allowed her to\u00a0soak up the scenery surrounding her.\u00a0One of her favorite memories was learning\u00a0how\u00a0to slalom water ski with her sister. \u201cI knew that slalom water skiing was hard, but I kept\u00a0practicing,\u00a0and I finally\u00a0got it,\u201d said Trembath.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>   Georgia\u00a0went shopping for her senior photos with her mom and grandmother,\u00a0and\u00a0saw one of her favorite singers, Noah Kahan, at a concert.\u00a0A special\u00a0memory\u00a0she shared\u00a0with\u00a0her mom and grandmother was going shopping for her senior photos.\u00a0She said, \u201cIt was different this year because it may be the last time we get to drive up\u00a0all together\u00a0since\u00a0I won\u2019t be home next year.\u201d\u00a0This reminded her to enjoy every moment with her family.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>   Catherine Stoltz, a senior at PVHS,\u00a0went to the Florida Keys with her family to relax,\u00a0spend time together, and enjoy the beaches.\u00a0She\u00a0appreciated being on the water and seeing the\u00a0different sea life. \u201cIt was surprising how peaceful and beautiful everything was,\u201d said Stoltz, \u201cI will never forget spending time with my family near the water and watching the sunset.\u00a0It\u00a0was one of those moments when I could just relax and enjoy being there.\u201d\u00a0It was different from\u00a0previous\u00a0vacations she\u00a0has\u00a0been\u00a0on because it was more about the ocean, nature, and spending time with her family, rather than being busy with activities.\u00a0\u201cThe most important lesson I took\u00a0away\u00a0is that it is important to slow down and appreciate\u00a0the people and places around you. My trip to the keys gave me a chance to relax, make great memories, and enjoy a different side of Florida,\u201d said Stoltz.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>   Students at PVHS\u00a0explored different areas\u00a0while spending time with\u00a0people they cherish.\u00a0Throughout\u00a0all\u00a0the memories that these students made during the summer, they learned that vacations\u00a0can\u00a0offer a break from school\u00a0and\u00a0a way to live in the present moment.\u00a0These moments gave the students something meaningful to take with them into the school year.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>Pictured: Eva Stoleru (10) in front of the Eiffel Tower<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By: Lucia Gabriel Many students at Ponte Vedra High School\u00a0(PVHS)\u00a0spent their summer vacation with their family, traveling,\u00a0and\u00a0partaking\u00a0in\u00a0new adventures.
