Families Come Together at Nocatee Farmers Market

By Amelia Rogers-Neubarth

The Nocatee Farmers Market brings the community together every third Saturday of the month. This event runs from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Each month Nocatee brings over 80 local vendors, themed entertainment, and lots of fun for families.

Nocatee is known for connecting all neighbors together to local restaurants, businesses, and services which the farmers market does a great job providing.

It is held in the Nocatee field between the Splash and Spray water parks. There is plenty of wide-open space for vendors to set up tents and all they are selling. Food trucks fit in this space as well as many tables to enjoy the food. This venue also includes a stage for live music occasionally as well as other events. The design is very family friendly for kids to run around allowing parents to enjoy themselves as well. For some events activities like bounce houses and petting zoos will be provided for entertainment for all ages.

The community develops unique themes for each market such as bicycle motorcross racing, spring fling, island experience, and wildlife encounters. It is filled with activities, shows, and demonstrations for the entire family. An example would include dog shows. These events are proving to bring an enormous crowd of attendees according to Nocatee.com.

This market offers a wide variety of selections including the freshest locally grown products and herbs as well as homemade jams, jellies, home-baked goods, hand stitched quilts, plants, art, and pottery items. Some of my favorite would homemade orange and lime juice, as well as hand crafted jewelry. Local businesses also show up at this event with their own booth to gain business and get the word out to the whole community.
