The Ponte Vedra High School Sharks took on the Creekside High School Knights on Nov 1. The Sharks started off the game with a rushing touchdown by senior running back, Brian Case. This put the Sharks up 7-0 early. It was a back and forth for the entire first half ever Sharks touchdown the Knights responded with points of their own. Case ended his monster first half with adding another rushing touchdown and then getting a receiver touchdown from senior quarterback, Drew Price. The Sharks were ahead of the Knights at half 21-20.
The Sharks marched down the field to start the second half due to their stellar offensive line, led by senior Guard, Rocco Garcia and junior tackle, Brody McLeod. Case punched in his fourth touchdown of the game extending the Sharks lead to 28-20. The Knight responded with a field goal making the score 28-23 going into the fourth quarter. Case added to his touchdown total by throwing a touchdown pass to sophomore wide receiver, Camden Tietze. This extended the lead to 25-23. The Knights started to make a comeback by scoring a touchdown making it 35-30, and then got the ball back with a minute to go. The Sharks defense came up big with a fourth down stop giving the Sharks the ball back for them to kneel on it. The Sharks record is 8-2 heading into the playoffs. McLeod spoke on the game “We had a great week of practice leading up to the game and come game day we were very prepared and were able to have the advantage the whole game which heavily contributed to the quality of our win.” The Sharks take on the Beachside High School Barracudas in the first round of the Playoffs.
