The Ponte Vedra High School Sharks took a road trip to Niceville High School. The Niceville High School Eagles hosted the Sharks for round two of the playoffs. The Sharks got to an early lead when senior quarterback, Drew Price found the hands of junior wide receiver, Davitt Doherty for a 37-yard touchdown. The Eagles responded back with a touchdown of their own tying up the game at seven. Junior running back, Brian Case scored his first touchdown of the game putting up the Sharks 14-7. The Sharks defense held up keeping the Eagles to seven going into halftime. The score at half was 14-7.
The first 10 minutes of the third quarter was a defense battle, both defenses coming up with stops. The Eagles then scored late in the third quarter making the game 14-14 heading into the fourth. The fourth quarter was all defense neither team cracked the scoreboard, at the end of regulation the score was 14-14. The Eagles had ball first in overtime and they capitalized as they scored and got the extra point going up 21-14. It didn’t take the Sharks long to score as senior wide receiver, Adarius Medina scored on a Price passing touchdown. The Sharks went for the win and tried to get a 2-point conversation and failed. The Eagles went onto win 21-20 and move on to the next round. Sophomore tight end, Caleb Stanton spoke on the season, “We had a great season sad to see the seniors go, but it was such a fun time.”
