The Ponte Vedra High School (PVHS) Sharks men’s basketball is back for the 2025-2026 season after finishing the 2025 season 11-6 with a heart-breaking loss in the State Championship Finals. The Sharks look to continue their five-year streak of making the State Championship game. On Nov. 19, the Sharks faced St. Joseph Academy at home. PVHS started the season hot with a dominant 84-36 win. The Sharks were led by sophomore guard, Tyler Kroog with twenty-five points on six three pointers made, Jacksonville University commit, senior forward, Maddox Palmer with twenty points and nine rebounds, as well as senior guard, Noah Simmons with seven assists and two steals. After his twenty-five-point performance and the win, sophomore Tyler Kroog said, “I felt great, we played great ball and had great team chemistry.” The Sharks look to continue their hot start at home against Andrew Jackson High School on Nov. 20.

On Nov. 20, the Sharks faced the Andrew Jackson High School Tigers at home. The Tigers were ranked first in Jacksonville after a 17-1 record last year. The Sharks started the game with a 10-0 run that led to a 30-29 going into halftime. PVHS was outscored 32-37 in the second half and ultimately lost in a nail bitter 62-66. Palmer led the team in points with twenty-five points and four assists. Senior guard, Andrew Speace led the team in rebounds with five, with two on offense and three on defense. Senior guard, Ryan Speace had twenty-three points with a 78 percent field goal percentage. The Sharks look to bounce back with a win at Wolfson High School on Nov. 24.
