The Ponte Vedra High School girls’ soccer team start the new season with high hopes coming off back-to-back state championships and a record of 17-3-2 in the prior season. While the Sharks lost a couple of their significant seniors, they will be led by senior captains Taylor McKeon and Lily Morse while deepening their roster with a multiple underclassman. Lily Morse said, “I’m super honored to be captain with Taylor this year! We hope to make history by winning states for a three peat. Using my soccer experience and leadership I hope to bring PV another successful season.”

The Sharks started their season in a home game against Montverde Academy on Nov. 4. The Sharks tried their best to score all game but came up short, same with Monteverde Academy, leaving the score the same as they started, 0-0. The Sharks would go on to face Chiles on Nov. 8 and end up winning 2-0 thanks to goals from junior, Lulu Consunji, and senior captain, Lily Morse. The Sharks kept Chiles at bay thanks to junior, Abby Kennedy, who saved all four shots by Chiles. With that, the Sharks record sits at a comfortable 1-0-1 with games against Bartram Trail and Lake Highland Prep on the horizon.
