Girls Lacrosse Opening Week

The Ponte Vedra High School (PVHS) girls lacrosse team would be led by senior captains, Taylor McKeon, Avery Hopf, Giada Antenucci, and Ella Nolan for the 2025-2026 season. McKeon is committed to Mercer University, Antenucci is committed to Robert Morris University. McKeon stated, “I’m excited to get the season started and prove that we have what it takes to take it (the championship) home this year.”

On Feb. 10, the Sharks girls lacrosse team kicked off their season in a home game against the Bolles Bulldogs. Through the entirety of the match, the Bulldogs scored three goals, while the Sharks scored 18 goals, securing the match. Final score, 18-3, in favor of the Sharks. With a dominant win, the Sharks kept the momentum going and beat the Fletcher High School (FHS) Senators, on Feb. 12.

On Feb. 12, the Sharks faced the Senators for their second home game of the season. The Sharks would blow the Senators out of the water with a 17-1 victory. With this win, the Sharks would bring their season to 2-0 in their opening week. However, on Feb.16, the Sharks would face their toughest opponent yet, the Harrison High School Hoyas.

On Feb. 16, the Sharks faced the Hoyas for their third home game this season. The Hoyas would score 11 goals, but despite the tough competition, the Sharks would outscore the Hoyas, scoring 16 goals. Final score, 11-16 in favor the Sharks. With this nail-biting win, the Sharks would bring their undefeated record to 3-0 for the 2025-2026 season.
