Sharks Football Battles Through Tough Conditions to Earn the Win

On Sep 13 the Ponte Vedra Sharks faced off against the Beachside Barracudas. The Barracudas were undefeated coming into the matchup whereas the Sharks were 1-1.  The Sharks started the game off by scoring first. Junior running back, Brian Case punched it in making the 7-0 early in the game. Following a couple stops the sharks had the ball on their 30-yard line. Case then broke off a huge 70-yard rushing touchdowns, with a huge block by senior guard, Rocco Garcia. The conditions all game was very sloppy causing may turnovers by both teams. The Sharks ended the first half recovering a fumble keeping the score 14-0.

The Sharks offense was quiet for most of the third quarter not putting up any points. The Barracudas offense on the other hand got their offense moving in the second half. They scored two unanswered touchdowns making the score 14-14. The Sharks and Barracudas defense were making huge stops keeping the score 14-14 going into the final minutes. The Sharks offense got the ball moving on their final drive of the game. The Sharks got the ball in field goal range with a minute to go. Sophomore kicker, Noah Ash put the sharks ahead in the final minute. The Barracudas got the ball back and started driving down the field. Senior defensive lineman, Robbie Grieco put an end to the Barracudas hopes selling the game with an interception. Case said, “We had a great team win everyone helped us get this win.”
