Sharks Track and Field Regular Season Comes to an End

   Next up for the Sharks track and field teams was the Bear Classic / True Team meet. The boys team ended up placing fifth in the meet and scored 1478 team points. While the girls team placed third and scored 1766.5 team points.

       Boys Team Standouts

  • Junior, William Hankee placed second in the pole vault with a mark of 3.9 meters
  • Junior, Brody McLeod placed third in the shot put with a mark of 14.77 meters
  • Junior, Cole Leschinski placed fourth in the 200 meters with a time of 22.53 seconds

       Girls Team Standouts

  • The 4 X 1600 meter relay team placed third with a time of 26 minutes and 23.54 seconds
  • Senior, Katie Kelly Placed first in the pole vault with a mark of 3.45 meters
  • Senior, Elizabeth Nuhu placed second in the shot put with a mark of 10.80 meters
  • Nuhu placed third in the discus and had a mark of 33.88 meters

Each person is starting to find their rhythm so hopefully we can all be at our best as the playoffs come.”

   The Sharks then traveled to Orange Park to participate in the Don Hall Meet. The boys team placed sixth and scored 55 team points. The girls team also placed sixth and scored 52.5 points.

       Boys Team Standouts

  • Junior, Dean Chigounis placed third in the 200 meters with a time of 23.13 seconds
  • Senior, Ben Miller placed first 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.25 seconds
  • Sophomore, Charlie Hilley placed third in the pole vault with a mark 3.30 meters
  • Senior, James O’Donnell placed first in the javelin and had a PR with a mark of 55.15 meters

       Girls Team Standouts

  • Kelly placed third in the high jump with a mark of 1.47 meters
  • Kelly placed first in the pole vault with a mark 3.00 meters
  • Senior, Drew Gardner placed first in the javelin with a mark of 28.18 meters

   Gardner said, “Each person is starting to find their rhythm so hopefully we can all be at our best as the playoffs come.”
