Ponte Vedra High School Percussion Off to a Slow Start at Premier

By: Aden Seelbinder

On Jan. 31, Ponte Vedra High School’s (PVHS) indoor percussion group, Ponte Vedra Percussion
(PVP) travelled to Cypress Creek to compete in the FFCC premier competition. They performed their
2026 show “Superstar.” The group performed below expectations after last year, placing first at state
championships. PVP earned a total score of 64.450, the first-place group, Fleming Island High School
Percussion, earned a score of 70.250. The beginning of PVP’s competitive season may seem rather
disappointing, however, the group is known for poor placement at FFCC premier, last year they placed
sixth and went on to win the state championship. It will be interesting to see if PVP will better meet
their expectations at the next competition.
