Sharks Girls Soccer Continue Their Success

By Xavier Garay

The Ponte Vedra Sharks girls’ soccer team is coming off a win against Tallahassee’s Chiles High School (CHS) and look to continue their success against Bartram Trail High School (BTHS). On Nov. 12, these two faced in a close matchup as Bartram scored only one goal in the game thanks to junior, Abby Kennedy, who saved four of their shots. The Sharks clapped back with two goals of their own each by senior captains Lily Morse and Taylor McKeon. Those two goals would secure the win for the Sharks, making their record 2-0-1 on the season.

“We continue to focus on the little things and make sure our energy is always high. Playing with high intensity and really focusing on the minor details like touches and moving off the ball for each other is really important to our team.”

The Sharks look to extend their win streak in the upcoming week against Bishop Kenney on Nov. 18 and St. Johns Country Day on Nov. 20. Junior forward, Kinley Mathis, said, “We continue to focus on the little things and make sure our energy is always high. Playing with high intensity and really focusing on the minor details like touches and moving off the ball for each other is really important to our team.”
