The Ponte Vedra boys’ soccer team has rebounded after a slow start to December. Despite a tie versus Bartram Trail and a 3-2 loss to Fletcher, the Sharks have turned around their play to garner four straight wins. The first win sparking the streak was the “Battle of the Bridge” in a match against Nease High School. The Sharks obliterated their rival 7-0, with goals coming from five players. Seniors David Morales and Noel Vogeli contributed with goals of their own. Other scores came from Junior, Jack Impey, and Sophomores, Liam Burchell and Stefan Madaffari. The other three games after were wins against Creekside, Matanzas, and Flager Palm Coast.
Looking forward to the back half of January, the Sharks with a strong record, look to keep the momentum with big matchups on the schedule. On Jan 10, they defeated the Chiles Timberwolves with two big goals coming from Seniors, Nico Gosendi and Patrick Neddo. A week later, Ponte Vedra came out victorious versus the rival Bolles Bulldogs in a close 3-2 win. With the 2020 Soccer District Tournament ahead, the Sharks look to use their impressive season to vault them in the tourney.
