The Ponte Vedra High School boys volleyball team faced the Creekside Knights last Wednesday. It was a tough game losing set one 25-13, then winning set two 25-17. Both set three and set four were lost at 25-14 and 25-17. Each match could have gone either way as the Sharks were swinging away well and had great chemistry in communication.
“As a second-year team, I feel like we played well, especially since they have a lot of talented players on their team. We held our own and next time we play them the outcome will be different,” stated sophomore middle blocker Hunter Calamari. Hunter had a great defensive game as a brick wall in the middle. “We put up a great fight against a great team,” described junior setter captain Merritt Crowe. Merritt sets and swings right side for the Sharks and contributed to many runs against Creekside. The boys face St. Augustine High School Monday, March 28, and play Tocoi High School on Tuesday, March 29, hoping to secure a win.
