The Ponte Vedra High School girls volleyball team dominated the Tank in their most recent matches this week. On Thursday Sept. 8, the Sharks swept the newly opened Beachside High School in three sets with scores of 17-25, 18-25, and 23-25. The Barracudas were out for Shark blood as the sets were the tightest compared to other competitors so far. “We need to come out of the gate strong, if we don’t, we won’t be able to gain a lead from the start which we could work on,” stated assistant Coach Raab. Per usual, the girls pulled through another win with 40 kills overall and an average of 13.3 kills per set. “The energy level was on point and it’s a great feeling to play all the way around,” described sophomore outside hitter Cassidy Miskowiec, who helped add to the ten serving aces for the team.
On Tuesday Sept. 13, the girls crushed Fleming Island High School in three sets with scores of 15-25, 17-25, and 19-25. The Sharks were in control of the court with a total of 41 kills and 44 digs over the Eagles. Contributing to four kills was junior outside hitter, Emme Warwick. “There was great energy on and off the court and bench which led us to not drop a set and help us keep consistency,” said Emme. Next Tuesday Sept. 20, the lady Sharks face Providence School of Jacksonville hoping to sweep yet again.
