The girl’s soccer team started off the season strong scoring a 3-1 win against the Nease Panthers. It was a competitive first half with senior captain Molly Schmachtenberger scoring to tie up the game at 1-1 and shut down the panthers early led by the end of the half. From there on out the sharks shut out Nease to no goals in the second half. Coming out of the first half, junior, Julia Gregory assisted a goal to sophomore midfielder, Jenny Deaire. Jenny went on to score another goal later on in the second half to close out the win against Nease. The offensive side was clicking in the second half and the team chemistry was picking up. A great win against Ponte Vedra’s local rivals, hopefully picking up some momentum to next week’s game against Bishop Moore. Bishop Moore is also 1-0 and a very good team with some older leaders consisting of juniors and seniors.
