Hidden Gems in Jacksonville

By Nick DeSanto

Anastasia State Park

Anastasia State Park is a hidden gem tucked away on the northeastern coast. Stretching over 1,600 acres, beautiful beaches, pristine marshes, and magnificent forests. Despite its stunning beauty, Anastasia State Park is relatively unknown to most visitors, keeping its secrets hidden until explored. Entry costs eight dollars for a vehicle carrying up to eight people, four dollars for a vehicle with one occupant, and 2 dollars for pedestrians and bicyclists. Families and friends can enjoy bringing camp supplies and staying on the local camp ground either with tents or trailers. One of the most magical places to go in this state park is the inlet where Vilano Beach meets Anastasia. This area is home to dozens of sea turtles. The best way to get here is using electric bikes and riding north on Anastasia beach for about a mile until you meet the rocks.
