On Thursday, Jan 25 the Ponte Vedra High School Sharks were matched up against the 10-8 St Augustine High School Yellow Jackets.
The Sharks started this game off strong, outscoring the Yellow Jackets 18-7 in the first quarter, this early scoring was led by senior, Tyler Cowan. The next quarter was more of the same from the Sharks, closing out the half with a 32-16 lead, other outstanding scorers in the half were sophomore center, Trace Westercamp and junior guard, David Sanchez Barrera. The sharks would continue this dominant game with a strong third and fourth quarter, closing out the game confidently with a 22-point win. This win would improve the Sharks record to 16-6 on the year and a first-place rank in the district. Senior forward, Brendan Hynes said “We hope to keep this momentum up going into the post season.”

The next game for the sharks will be against the Beachside Barracudas for the first round of district play on Tuesday, February 6.
