It was Homecoming week for the Ponte Vedra High School Sharks as they took on the Pedro Menendez High School Falcons on Thurs, Sep 19. The energy was high in the Shark tank Thursday night as the stands were packed. The Sharks started the game on fire driving down and scoring then making multiple stops in the first quarter. The Sharks offense continued to score with passing touchdowns by senior quarterback, Drew Price and a rushing touchdown by senior running back, Brian Case. The Sharks capped off a huge first half with an interception by junior safety, Fionn Day. The Falcons were no match for the Sharks in the first half as they were down 24-0 going into halftime.
The Sharks offense continued their scoring when Price broke off a huge 60-yard rushing touchdown to start the third quarter. The Sharks then put in their backups for the rest of the game. Senior running back, Jake Hilley made the best of his opportunity getting 11 carriers for 54 yards. Junior quarterback, Cole Rosendahl got in and made a name for himself, throwing for 48 yards and getting into the end zone on a rushing touchdown. The Sharks defense held up strong the rest of the game shutting the Falcons out making the final score 40-0. Junior wide receiver, Davitt Doherty said “This was a huge team win everyone came together, it made it very fun.”
The Sharks won big in the game as did seniors Jack Brady and Banks Vadeboncoeur as they were crowned Homecoming king and queen at halftme.
