Sharks Football Dominates Against IMG White

By Dylan McAdoo

The Ponte Vedra High School Sharks went on a road trip down to IMG to take on the IMG White Ascenders. The Ascenders got the ball first but it didn’t take long for the Sharks to get the ball as the Sharks defense forced a punt. The Sharks offense drove all the way down the field and scored when senior running back, Brian Case ran it in. The Sharks lead 7-0 half way through the first quarter. The Sharks defense was holding up big, giving the offense back the ball with around 4 minutes left in the first half. The Sharks offense found the end zone again when senior quarterback, Drew Price found the hands of sophomore tight end, Caleb Stanton. The Sharks now lead 14-0. The Sharks offense got the ball back late in the second quarter and came through. Price connected with junior wide receiver, Jack Berquist on a long 51-yard touchdown. The Sharks lead 21-0 going into half time.

“We really go everyone involved on offense, and credit to our defense for playing well.”

Caleb Stanton (10)

The Sharks offense got the ball in the third quarter and capitalized on Cases second rushing touchdown of the game. The Sharks missed the point but their lead was now 27-0. The Sharks defense was lock down all game as they tallied a total of six sacks throughout the game. The Ascenders were shut out for most of the game until late in the fourth quarter. The Ascenders offense got hot a little too late as they would go on to score two consecutive touchdowns. The Sharks offense would get the ball back and take a knee to end the game. They won 27-14 improving their record to 7-2. Stanton said, “we really go everyone involved on offense, and credit to our defense for playing well.”
