On Oct. 19 the Ponte Vedra Ocean of Sound was named Grand Champion out of 1A, 2A, and 3A at the Ocala Marching Festival. 16 high school bands were in the 1A, 2A, and 3A divisions combined and there were also 3 high school bands in 5A competition. The Ocean of Sound also placed first in 3A for all captions including Percussion, Color Guard, Visual, Music, and General Effect. And first overall out of all 19 bands for visual. The Ocean of Sound also received a Distinguished in visual and drum major. With state championships for both FFCC and FMBC quickly approaching for the Ocean of Sound the future looks bright.
