Despite the loss of one of the most talented and prestigious senior classes in Ponte Vedra girls basketball history, the 2024-2025 team has their eyes set on a season just as good as the last. Freshman, Audrey Rosendahl aims to carry on the legacy that her sister left with her 1,000 plus point career, and seniors Lily Schroeder and Ellie Walsh look to lead their team to a deep playoff run.
The Sharks have started the season 3-2 maintaining their 4 game home win streak dating back to last season, and have averaged a solid 51.3 points per game over the course of this young season. Junior, Arden Doherty has emerged as a leader in this span as she scored 18 points in the win over Episcopal which will be pivotal for building confidence as the following opponents will only be more foreboding. Sophomore, Julia Conroy recorded 7 assists and stated “Individual stats are great and all, but our coach really stresses that without winning the game all of our preparation goes to waste. That really helps me stay focused on the team aspect of the game and not just myself so we have a better chance of winning the game.” The Sharks will look to continue their string of strong performances as they play at home against Fletcher, then go on the road to face Beachside and Creekside. Although many may have counted the Lady Sharks out, they will be the first to tell you that they are the only ones that control their destiny.
