PV Girls Lacrosse Eyes Dominant Season

By Jake Hilley

As the lacrosse season swiftly approaches, the girls lacrosse team looks to write the next successful chapter in their teams’ storied history. Seasoned senior veterans Addy Paul and Aubrey Schmidt look to captain this team through challenging games against teams including Plant and Bartram, as well as heated rivalry games such as Nease and Fletcher. With many key players returning such as senior attack Lamb Toole, junior attack Giada Antenucci, and senior defender Jayden Felts, this season is sure to see success just like in years past.

“This is the most connected team I have been on since coming to PV as a freshman. Everyone wants the best for each other and is willing to work hard in order to win and come closer as a group.”

After a heartbreaking last second loss against Episcopal, the Sharks have played ferociously against one of the hardest schedules in North Florida. Although their record is 4-3, wins against St. Thomas Aquinas and Hagerty will serve nicely when playoff seeding comes into play. Defense has been stout as opposing teams have only scored more than 10 goals twice so far, and offensively the Sharks are as good as any team in St. Johns County. Senior, Jayden Felts stated “this is the most connected team I have been on since coming to PV as a freshman. Everyone wants the best for each other and is willing to work hard in order to win and come closer as a group.” Senior, Addy Paul has had the hot stick so far scoring 13 goals and is looking to only pad her stats further as she prepares to take her talents to Lynn University this fall. The Sharks have sharpened their focus for inner county play and look to continue their dominance.
