With the departure of so many impactful seniors last season, a rebuilding year was inevitable for the Sharks. With almost the entire starting lineup being composed of inexperienced underclassmen, losses were expected as nerves and fresh faces were bound to play sloppy and with mistakes. Although going 13-13 and achieving a .500 win/loss record is not the standard that the sharks wish to uphold, a rebound season is almost certain for next year as the many underclassmen will now be holding the reins of the team with a firm and experienced presence.
“We are capable of so much more than what we produced this season, and are willing to put in the work to make our visions a reality.”
Jocelyn Hoffman (9)
The freshman phenom Jocelyn Hoffman continued to amaze as she finished the season leading the team with 12.6 points per game and 2.5 assists per game. Jocelyn paired with Sophomore Ella Spencer Gardner, and Freshman Audrey Rosendahl for the next two seasons should only make fans expect more success as the young core continues to train and grow better together.
Despite the lackluster finish to the season, the Sharks are primed to use this season as motivation for the next and build off of their talented young foundation. Jocelyn Hoffman stated that “We are capable of so much more than what we produced this season, and are willing to put in the work to make our visions a reality.”
