The Sharks Dominate Another Week

The Ponte Vedra High School baseball team faced off against the 0-5 Riverside Generals on Feb. 24.  The Sharks won this game in complete domination with the final score of 11-0. Junior first base, James Salvati, singled and scored a run and following that, senior pitcher, Roshan Patel, hit a double driving in two runs. Juniors Maddox Tepper, Carter Lang, and Luke Goerge were all hit by pitch and drove in three runs total. In the bottom of the third, Goerge drew another walk and scored another run. Salvati singled again scoring two more runs and junior catcher, Evan Ruboki, singled and scored a run. Then, Patel got to the plate and hit a tank, crushing a triple and scoring a run. Senior outfielder, Ashtan Augusta, stated, “I am starting to see some fire on our team. Our hitting has been great and our defense is on point as of now.” Patel also recorded the win on the mound with a shutout and the game was concluded early with a mercy rule.

   On Friday, Feb. 28, the Sharks took their talent to a neutral location at Fort Family Field to take on the Beachside Barracudas. Junior pitcher, Storm Lickliter, was on the mound for the night and recorded the win for the sharks allowing no runs scored. The game was severely quiet for the game until senior shortstop, Jack Brady, was on third base and scored on a wild pitch. The final score of the game was close at 1-0. Sophomore catcher, Caleb Stanton, and junior center fielder, Luca Candella, also recorded hits to help guide the Sharks to the win.
