Ponte Vedra High School (PVHS) Boys Soccer is back in action for their 2025-2026 season. Last season the Sharks posted an impressive 13-4 record and ultimately had their season cut short in a heartbreaker against the Beachside High School (BHS) Barracudas as the Sharks fell 1-0 in the district championship. The Sharks expect another great season and hope for another playoff run in which they surpass districts. This year’s captains are senior midfielder, Brayden Sandoval and senior goalkeeper, Keegan Cornett. Cornett aims to continue his academic and soccer journey at the Naval Academy next fall.
“No matter who we play we are going to do the right things as a team and grow and get better with each game.”

The Sharks season opener took place on Nov. 3 against the Duval Charter Panthers at the Shark Tank. PVHS dominated in their first game as they punished Duval Charter 8-0. Senior, Antonio Mahfuz recorded two goals against Duval Charter in the opening minutes. Junior, Noah Ostfeld scored twice and Mahfuz added his third goal securing his hat-trick to end the half. After halftime, senior Jake Romano added two goals and Junior, Nolan Goertz added a goal as well in the Sharks 8-0 offensive masterclass to take down the Panthers. After the game, Mahfuz commented, “No matter who we play we are going to do the right things as a team and grow and get better with each game.” The Sharks were a brick wall on defense as they did not allow Duval Charter to complete a single shot on goal. The game against Stanton on Nov. 5 was postponed to a later date so the next game up is PVHS versus St. Augustine at the Shark Tank on Nov. 10.
