Sharks wrestling faces a rough patch

By Jack Polian

Shortly before break, Ponte Vedra High School hosted Matanzas High School for a series of matches for both the boys and girls wrestling programs. The boys struggled, collecting only two wins over the course of the day. The girls were able to put up a better fight, going 10-11 during the day. The boys team resumed play after the holiday break on Jan 4, facing various teams in their district. They traveled to Fleming Island High School on Jan 8 and Jan 9 for the Keystone Memorial. As for the girls team, they were only able to participate in the St. Johns County Championships on Jan 2. They will have a few weeks to prepare for their next competition, which does not come until the North Florida Girls Championships on Jan 23, taking place at Matanzas High School.
