Girl’s Soccer dominates their way to a championship

By Chipper Jones

The Ponte Vedra High School girls’ soccer team finished the season with a state championship victory. In a stunning display the lady sharks took the field by storm, winning 2-0 against Archbishop McCarthy High School. Both goals were scored by junior, Tamlyn Parks, with an assist from senior, Ella Shapiro. Holding up a strong defensive backing were Victoria Villasana, Abbey Mulhall and Eli Mabe, as well as a powerful midfield approach by Ella Shapiro, Maggie Mace, and Carson Beliakoff.

In a fintastic end to the season the lady sharks beat last year’s state champions, winning with a cohesive effort by both the defense and offense, moving like a well-oiled machine. With next year in mind, the girls are already on track to defend their title as state champions.
