Fantasy Week One Recap

By Ben Ritchie

Week one has come to an end, and there were many outstanding performers, one being Deebo Samuel who pulled in nine of his twelve targets for 189 yards and a TD for a total of 31.9 fantasy points in a PPR league.

Patrick Mahomes also had a field day against the Browns, throwing for 337 yards and three TDs. He also had one rushing TD, with 18 rushing yards racking up a total of 33.28 points, and this is something to expect week in and week out.

One of the best performers this week if not the best was Kyler Murray who passed for 289 yards and four TDs and also one interception. Kyler also had five rushing attempts for 20 yards and a TD. He totaled for 33.56 fantasy points in week one, making him the current position rank leader.

Cowboys receiver Amari Cooper had a fantastic Thursday night football performance with 13 catches for 139 yards a two TDs. He had 38.9 fantasy points and this fantasy season is looking in his favor as the Cowboys offense plans to throw over 50 times a game.

In week one there were some booms and bust. One of the bust this week was Ezekiel Elliott, who had a total of 5.9 points. This week was not in Zeke’s favor with Dak throwing over 50 passes. Zeke had 11 carries for 33 yards and two receptions for six yards.

One of the most disappointing players was Aaron Rodgers, who passed for 133 yards and threw two INTs resulting in him being benched. Aaron had 1.32 fantasy points in week one which was the worst game of his life.

The Giants starting Running back Saquon Barkley had 3.7 points with ten carries for 26 yards and reception for one yard. Saquon is a high volume running back when 100 percent, but it’s going to take till week five for him to really get going.

Week One Busts

Ezekiel Elliott

5.9 Points

Aaron Rodgers

3.32 Points

Saquon Barkley

3.7 Points

Fantasy performances should start to balance out in the upcoming weeks, as week one usually causes chaos. It’s still too early to give up on your players, be careful while trading week one does not determine the season outcome.
