Girls Soccer’s Run Ends in the Playoffs

By Sasha Crowe

The Ponte Vedra High School girls soccer team’s long running season came to an end last Saturday, Feb. 12. The Sharks were bested by Fleming Island High School by a score of 2-1. The teams were evenly matched, however the Eagles’ defense put up a brick wall against the Sharks. “We played well and should have won. This season was so much fun, and I am very upset that it’s over,” stated sophomore, Hadley Conway. The team will lose six seniors; however, the ladies are eager for the ring again and will be back next season for another chance at states. “Next year we will come back stronger and hopefully have the opportunity to make it to the State Championship,” described sophomore defender, Carson Beliakoff.
